Happiness

I realize that I am not unique in my quest for finding happiness in life.  Our societies pursuit of happiness is actually pretty big business.    In my search, I have read several books on the subject, to which I will now give a shameless plug (yes, I earn a small % if you order one or more books through these links):

The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F*&K –  I was skeptical because of the title and yes, the books uses foul language liberally in places, but I was pleasantly surprised by the advice and found it a good read.  I guess that’s why it’s a best seller.

The book of JOY –  I really enjoyed learning more about the Dali Lama and Desmond Tutu – two amazing persons.  I also enjoyed reading about how they cope with adversity and maintain their positive outlook on life.  They have had more adversity in their lives than most people and they are inspirational in how they manage this.

10% Happier –  I like Dan Harris’s self-deprecating writing style.  It makes him more believable.  I might not have hit the 10% mark, but I definitely found it a good read and educational.  Still need to join that Yoga class…

The Happiness Project – I admire Gretchen Rubin’s ability to do this project.  It was inspirational and a good read.
